The God of War Does Not Just Take a Tithe
who seeks his goals by warfare
starts a forest fire to roast
his goat – thinking to
quench the fire
once his
meat
is
done.
but fires
and wars alike
hunger for ash: they’ll
burn and burn until all our
goals and goats alike are gone
for the god of war does not just take a tithe
I wish all those clamouring for war could understand the deep meaning of these words.
the drums of war can be deafening…
Beautiful poetry. And such potent truth.
Thanks, Iquo.
“the God of war does not take a tithe” so he cares not to leave you with any spoils.
Thanks for writing this.
You are welcome!
