And so November, 2013 has come and gone, and along with it, the inaugural edition of the ambitious arts and literary festival that held at Abeokuta. The Ake Arts & Book Festival brought together writers, artists performers and arts professionals from all over the world for a few days of magic. I was there too, towards the end, with a Samsung NX300 in tow, and here are a few true photographs, and thoroughly fictional conversations, by way of memento.

Toads for Supper

Remi's Missing Limousine

Photographing the Revolution

Actor meets Director...

Teju Cole & the Babalawo Cap

Binyavanga's Next Book

Cloudy Smokescreens

Generator Blues

Ibrahim's Amazonian Sandwich

Warripolitanism on Trial

Lola Shoneyin's Secret Agenda...

Saying Cheese...

How to fly a Third-Term-Agenda Kite

The Barrack Conundrum

To find out if there is any fire behind the smoke of the fiction, you probably have to put the Ake festival on your travel schedule for next November.

See you there…
